Candidate Forum Tonight and tomorrow

The Argus has a candidate forum tonight and tomorrow. Tonight is for congress and state legislative races, and tomorrow is for judicial races. Both events are at 6:30PM at Howell High School's auditorium.

The candidates invited tonight are U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Brighton, and his Democratic challenger Jim Marcinkowski; state Sen. Valde Garcia, R-Marion Township, and Democratic hopeful Donna Anderson; state Rep. Chris Ward, R-Brighton Township, and Democrat Mike McGonegal; and state Rep. Joe Hune, R-Hamburg Township, and Democrat Mary Andersson.

On Tuesday, judicial candidates are invited. The second forum is at the same time and place. The candidates in the nonpartisan judicial races are Circuit Judge Stanley Latreille and challenger Bill Russell; District Judge Theresa Brennan and challenger Jay Drick; Carol Hackett Garagiola and Robert Parker, who are running to replace retiring Probate Judge Susan Reck; and Carol Sue Reader and Bill McCririe, vying to replace retiring District Judge John Pikkarainen.

Unfortunately, I usually only see political junkies there and few undecideds. These events should be packed.
