This is the most Republican State Senate District in the state, if not the country. The district is simply Ottawa County, the most Republican County in the state. My only complaint about this district is that I wish they split it some to take parts of Democrat leaning Muskegon to the North (and still be safe), but APOL concerns quashed that idea.
There is some bleeding from 08 that needs to be stopped in Ottawa County, not so much with this district, but for statewide reasons. We need at good 55-60K+ vote spread here to counteract losses in other counties.
