Barry County is a small but solid Republican County in West Michigan which is often overlooked. Redistricting significantly altered the districts here. All of the county is now combined into the Grand Rapids based 3rd congressional district. Redistricting changed the state senate seat, and now places it in an Allegan County based district. We need a good turnout here in 2006 and 2008 to win.
