Why so many of us distrust so called "moderates" - RINO Trey Grayson is at it this time

Trey Grayson lost to Rand Paul in Kentucky. It turns out he lost for a damn good reason. He's untrustworthy.

From the Washington Post

Giffords, who survived a January 2011 assassination attempt that left her with years of rehabilitation ahead, resigned her seat earlier this year but left open the possibility of a return to politics. With the new PAC, dubbed “Gabby PAC,” she allows herself to continue to be a part of the process.
The formation of the PAC was first reported last week by Politico, but we now have details about who specifically will be involved and whom the PAC will support.
Giffords, a Blue Dog Democrat, is set to announce in a news release that the PAC will be co-chaired by a Democrat and a Republican: former Bill Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich and former Kentucky secretary of state and 2010 Senate candidate Trey Grayson (R).
However, the PAC will only support Democrats.

No wonder Grayson lost. He's a RINO. My definiton of RINO is also specific. It's not a liberal republican or even a (sniff nose in the air) moderate. It's not a John McCain. A RINO backs democrats. Grayson is raising money for democrats. This PAC isn't bipartisan. It only backs democrats. That's all that needs to be said.

In an interview with The Fix, Grayson assured that he remains a Republican and has both Mitt Romney and Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) bumper stickers on his car. But he is very good friends with Giffords.

“I still consider myself a very proud Republican. I run a bipartisan institution that encourages activity in both parties,” Grayson said. He added: “I’d love to run again some day. If I do it, I’m obviously going to do it as a Republican. It would be nice if there were some Democrats from Gabby PAC that I could work with.”
Grayson also quipped: “I’m not the player to be named later in the Artur Davis trade.”
(Davis, a former Democratic congressman who switched parties and spoke at the GOP convention last week, was recently a fellow at Grayson’s institute.)

You got to be shitting me. Trey, you are raising money for a PAC that only supports democrats. The only possible excuse that is acceptable is if you are a professional fundraising independent contractor doing a favor. You're job is up at Harvard, so that's not the case. I have friends and family members who are democrats. That doesn't mean I'm going to go out and raise money for other democrats.

The question if Grayson runs again is this. Why the hell would I vote for someone I can't trust? This guy sounds like an opportunist, no different than a Roy Schmidt.  How do I know he's not going to turn into a Arlen Specter, Joe Schwarz, Lincoln Chafee, or Charlie Christ?

Damn it, Snyder!

Just when Rick Michigan starts to get on my good side a bit, he does something once again that pisses me off.

From CBS

(CBS News) Breaking from Republicans in his state and across the country, Michigan's Republican Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday vetoed three bills intended to curb voter fraud but that opponents cast as forms of voter suppression.
One of the bills vetoed would have required training for people involved in voter registration efforts. In a release, the governor's office said, "While Snyder supports the concept of training individuals involved in voter registration, [these changes]... may cause confusion with ongoing voter registration efforts."
Another one of the vetoed bills would have required a voter to prove his U.S. citizenship before receiving a ballot, while the third would have required a voter to show a photo ID when picking up an absentee ballot form. The governor's office said in its statement, "this legislation could create voter confusion among absentee voters."

You got to be shitting me. The veto of the third provision is what really pissed me off. That's about 1/3 of the votes right there. How the hell can you veto a photo ID for an absentee ballot form?

I got a laugh out of this.

The nonpartisan group Project Vote, meanwhile, applauded the Republican governor for "doing right by Michigan voters and taking an important stand against the current onslaught of voter suppression laws."

Non partisan? It's obviously not unbiased.  Barack Obama (ACORN's Attorney) in 1992 ran the Chicago chapter of Project Vote. It's tight with ACORN, Jocelyn Benson, Soros, the Secretary of State Project, and all those leftists.

From Capital Research Center
Browne-Dianis, like many of her colleagues, engages in racially tinged overstatement. She likened a Florida election law to a “Jim Crow” law because it requires that voter registration groups like ACORN quickly hand over to the state the registration forms they gather.
Besides Levitt and Brown-Dianis, Durbin could have filled the panel with dozens of other well funded left-wing election law specialists eager to support his opposition to voter ID. By contrast, Heritage Foundation expert Hans von Spakovsky is one of very few election law experts prepared to rebut the overblown claims of people like Browne-Dianis and Levitt. The Left has scores of soldiers; the Right but a few. There is no middle to speak of in this field.
Left-wing election law soldiers are paid salaries by dozens of well-funded nonprofit legal and policy advocacy groups, including ACORN-affiliated Project Vote, Advancement Project, Asian American Legal Defense Fund (AALDF), Asian Pacific American Legal Center, Brennan Center for Justice, Common Cause, DEMOS, League of Women Voters, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO). These and other groups often work against conservative candidates and the rule of law by attacking election rules and procedures.
Not surprisingly, sizeable contributions from George Soros’s philanthropies go to these organizations. For example, Soros’s Open Society Institute has given grants to Project Vote ($1 million since 2007), Demos ($2,475,000 since 2003), Common Cause Education Fund ($2,025,000 since 2001) and MALDEF ($323,200 since 2001), according to the FoundationSearch philanthropy database.

Convicted Felon George Soros. Who else would be involved in this. Thanks for nothing Snyder. I hope Snyder's veto gets overridden.

RINO alert (Allen Carlson) and Deadline for candidates and precinct delegate filing - May 15, 2012

May 15th - Tuesday. 4PM. Save that date. It's a big one for the August primary. All candidates who wish to run in the August primary must be ready to file on that day. The petitions must be turned in, or the payment received, depending on the office. For precinct delegates, all that is needed is a notarized affidavit turned in. I've turned mine in a long time ago, and there's notaries at the county clerk's office.

You can take a look and see who has filed for most offices on the Secretary of State's page. Here's the listing of filed congressmen, state reps, and judicial offices.  The deadline has passed already for judicial offices. Most congressional candidates have not files because they take more petition signatures. State reps can get petitions or pay $100.

In Livingston County, the clerk's office posted online those who have filed so far for County and Township races. Some people who will likely run are sandbagging to the last minute. Many have filed already. Most are republicans, although a couple of those republicans I've found are RINOS in the truest sense. Republican in Name Only. Allen Carlson in Hamburg Township, running for treasurer there as a Republican, is a gigantic RINO. Allen Carlson donated to the House Democrats fund, and is running as a republican. He also voted democrat in the 08 primary when there was a contest on both sides. He also currently has no opponent. The other RINO's I've seen so far at least have contested races in primaries. I have no respect at all for that. If you're a democrat, run as one. Annette Koeble is running as a democrat for trustee. She also voted dem in the 08 primary, as you would expect. Be who you are.

The dangerously incompetent one herself, Debbie Stabenow. So if you're in Hamburg and reading this, and don't like what you see - please find someone good with accounting or tax law background, and get them to run. I'd consider it, but I don't live in Hamburg.

I don't use the term RINO for liberal Republicans like Rudy Giuliani or Olympia Snowe or even glory hounds like John McCain or Lindsay Graham. When I use the term RINO, I save it for those who back democrats or are sore losers in primaries and run as "independents" or switch parties. Charlie Crist, Arlen Specter, Larry Pressler (Obama supporter), Chuck Hagel (Obama), Lisa Murkowski (primary loser), Joe Schwarz, John Steward (former state rep) and people like that. Those are the RINOs.

Oftentimes grass roots call those in the establishment RINOs. Usually they aren't RINOs, but they are very pragmatic, sometimes correctly, and sometimes to a fault. The job of establishment republicans is to elect republicans. Period. Where I have problems with establishment is when the NRSC idiots announce that they are not contesting a race when their primary pick loses. It's a stupid move that allows democrats to stop spending there. I also have a problem when NRSC endorses in primaries. There's not much that can be done about caucus committee establishments.

However, RNC, MIGOP, District GOP, and County GOP leadership is picked from precinct delegates. Either precinct delegates choose directly, as in the case of county party, or they send delegates to state. The delegates sent to state convention caucus in district and pick their district party. They then vote on state party leadership - as well as some partisan offices at different conventions. At the next convention, we pick our RNC committeeman.

So if you are a grass roots republican and want to have some control in party politics, there's your chance. Run for precinct delegate in the August primary. If you win, you then get to vote on who goes to state conventions, as well as directly vote for county party executive committees. If you want my support however, you'd have to do more than just show up at conventions. Show up at the county meetings as minimum. I tend to reward those who do work and not just complain.

This Tuesday, we'll know officially who is in and who is out. Stay tuned.

RINO Murkowski can't accept the choice of Alaskan voters

I save the term RINO for real Republicans in name only. Olympia Snowe is not a RINO. She's a liberal republican. Lisa Murkowski is a RINO. She is running against a Republican as a write-in.

If you want to know why there's little tolerance for people the media calls moderates right now, it's because of this crap. If you lose, suck it up and come back six years later in the primary. Arlen Specter was not acceptable in the primary, he left to become a democrat. The democrats kicked that asshole to the curb. Specter got fired. Good riddance. Charlie Crist became a RINO and is running as a supposed independent because he couldn't take a primary. Wayne Gilchrist in 2008 lost his primary, endorsed the democrat and backed Obama. Lincoln Chafee backed Obama. Jim Leach backed Obama. Chuck Hagel backed Obama. Joe Schwarz backed Mark Schauer. Bob Inglis and Bob Bennett are having hissyfits and threatened 3rd party votes. Leftist Bill Milliken backed Obama and Kerry. We'll wait and see what Mike Castle does.

The NRSC and the DC establishment backs these RINOS in primaries. When they lose, these people, with republican money do a little hissyfit and back the democrats, run as supposed independents, or fail to accept that they lost because of their policies which were bad for their state in the eyes of their voters. Don't support TARP, dumbasses. You back things like TARP and support incompetent fools like Obama over your fellow "moderate" John McCain, and then expect us to support you? Go to hell.

What the US Senate Republicans need to do first is to kick Lisa Murkowski off of all committees unless she abandons the write in campaign. Announce that she won't get any committee seats if she wins her write in campaign. The people have spoken, and Joe Miller is our guy. If Murkowski wins as a write-in and caucuses with the democrats, we will all vote 100% against any bill she sponsors, and she will have no bills heard in committee if the Republicans take over the senate.

With the exception of THREE people (maybe four depending on what Doug Hoffman does), no "conservatives" turned RINO when facing defeat. The two exceptions are Colorado's Tom Tancredo, Texas's Ron Paul who I usually like (backed Constitution party candidate Chuck Baldwin), and John Kerry supporting Bob Smith in New Hampshire. The rest, when defeated, take one for the team as they are supposed to do. This is almost purely a liberal republican phenomenon. When Rick Snyder won, the other GOP candidates for governor gave him their support. All of them. Cox, George, Hoekstra, and Bouchard. Mark Kirk's opponent in the primary lost, and took it for the team. Chuck DeVore took one for the team when he lost to Fiorina. New Hampshire's race between a center-right and conservative candidate ended amicably.

There needs to be a sore loser law in all 50 states. If you lose your primary, you're out. No write-in. No third party. If you are running an election at one party, you can not switch in the middle of election season (Charlie Crist).

These punks need to get destroyed in politics, PERMANENTLY, by any legal means necessary.

RINO alert - Bruce Hawley - State Rep District 73

I don't often throw the term RINO. When I do, it's because I save it for "republicans" who back democrats, like that current punk living on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Look what we got here. Thanks to JR Foley on Right Michigan for bringing this to our attention. It's not cool to be a democrat, and some are going to take care of that.

From the Grand Rapids Press.

GRAND RAPIDS -- A three-way Republican primary is set for state Rep. Tom Pearce's, R-Rockford, 73rd District seat. Tim Nelson, 39, of Rockford, director of spiritual formation at Ada Bible Church, will battle Tom Norton, of Sand Lake, a retention specialist with Charter Communications and Bruce Hawley, of Kent City, a former business manager for Ironworkers Local 340.
In 2008, Hawley was defeated when he ran as a Democrat.

This isn't back 1990 when there were more conservative democrats. This isn't just a local office up in the UP. This was 2008 for state rep, when Obama was leading the ticket. Hawley ran for office as a democrat in 2008.

Here, a Michigan Liberal thread shows that Bruce Hawley was campaigning with Carl Levin.

This Daily Kos thread has him and Obama campaigning together

The Campaign Contributions list shows his real ties. He donated to Andy Dillon, Dave LaGrand who ran against Bill Hardiman, Democrat state party, state rep Mary Valentine, state rep Roy Schmidt, Jennifer Granholm, Kent County Democrats, and the 3rd District Democratic Committee.

Now, all of a sudden, he's a Republican? If this is a real party switch, I'd need to see a lot of actions which showed a switch, especially on economic matters and campaigning. This seems just all too convenient to me. He didn't just vote or run as a democrat. He gave to all of the big names in West Michigan democrat politics, along with Dillon and Granholm. Granholm.

Heads up out that way.
