Judge Stan LaTreille running for re-election

From the Argus

On the heels of Chief Circuit Judge Stanley J. Latreille's announcement Monday that he will seek a fifth term on the Livingston County bench, two local attorneys solidified their decisions to seek other judicial seats.
Assistant Prosecutor William McCririe III will seek District Judge A. John Pikkarainen's seat while Carol Hackett Garagiola, a Genoa Township resident and former assistant Oakland County prosecutor, is running for Probate Court Judge Susan Reck's seat.

The Argus has a list of candidates so have so far declared, and for which judgeships in Livingston County they are running. The Howell District and Probate seats are open.

* 53rd District Court in Howell: Carol Sue Reader, Brighton attorney; Linda Walker, Fowlerville attorney; William McCririe III, Livingston County assistant prosecutor

* 53rd District Court in Brighton: Judge Theresa Brennan, incumbent; Christina Heikkinen, Howell attorney

* 44th Circuit Court: Stanley J. Latreille, incumbent

* Probate Court: Roberta Balon-Vaughn, Hamburg Township treasurer, attorney; Kathleen M. Oemke, Juvenile Court referee; Carol Hackett Garagiola, former Oakland County assistant prosecutor

Some other potential candidates were waiting for LaTreille's decision before running. There may be others who are running. With LaTreille staying, I expect the two open seats to become even more crowded.
