Republican Michigander’s prognosis – Safe Democrat

District covers:
Central Detroit

This district is all in the city of Detroit, and is also an open seat as Mary Waters is termed out. We have a 16 way primary here, with a lot of familiar last names. Is Daniel Crockett related to George Crockett? Is Keith Hollowell related to Butch Hollowell? Famous last names go a long ways in Detroit. Speaking of famous names, my money is going on Coleman A. Young, the son of the former mayor who made “8 Mile Road” famous long before Eminem. I expect Young to win, and win big because of his dad. His is as loved in Detroit as he was disliked in the suburbs.
