Response to Letter (Judges)

Former Green Oak Trustee and well known democrat Sally York wrote a letter to the editor today. You can find it here. I'd like to make two points in response.

1. The GOP did not endorse the Andersons in that school board race. The county GOP endorsed the opposition to the countywide enhancement millage. Carney won due to a combination of the teachers union support, and also conservative mad at incumbents due to the millage. I know some straight GOP votes in that race who were looking for a fifth choice, only voting for one of the Andersons and leaving the rest blank.

2. The problem is not just that Ms. Brennan was appointed or a democrat. This isn't a moderate Jim Barcia type of democrat we are dealing with. Granholm appointed the most leftist judge she could find - One of Debbie Stabenow's top supporters. The same Stabenow who prevents judges in Michigan from having an up or down vote in the senate. Ms. Brennan is also a supporter of radical MI List, the Emily's list of Michigan. Only partial birth abortion supporters need apply. If that isn't enough she organized a war protest with Bob Alexander. Those are mainstream views in Ann Arbor, but not in mainstream Livingston County.

Dan, will the lies from you ever stop. You continue to lie and misrepresent Judge Brennan's recod, and now you're adding the school board race. Do you have any shame?

The only liar here is you kevins, where you lie about everything you write. Your lies go back at least five years as well to your days at the paper.

And as for that school board race, nothing was endorsed there outside of opposition to the enhancement resolution. If you don't believe me, ask Bill Anderson.

I'll type this real slowly so Kevins can understand. During my time on the exec committee, our party has made three endorsements and one "halfway job."

1. Opposed the enhancement millage. (Win)
2. Opposed the Tree Ordinance (Win)
3. Endorsed Wendy Day and John Arthur for School Board. (Won and Lost)

The halfway job was on the judicial races this year.

If I’m a liar, then show me one example. I didn’t think so. I’ve shown time after time where you have lied, and I’m waiting for an example of where I lied. I never said the republicans endorsed in that school board race. Your misrepresentation comes when you make the ridiculous claim “Carney won due to a combination of the teachers union support, and also conservative (sic) mad at incumbent.”
I notice you don’t bring up your lies about Judge Brennan. The silence is deafening, and every time I bring it up, we don’t hear a word from you. I guess it’s hard to defend your lies.
I’ll type slowly so you can understand. You have no shame, and the lies keep on coming.

Again, welcome back Kindergarden Kevin. Dan is very well respected for his knowledge, research, and opinion. You would do well to follow his example.

Again, give me an example. I've given you examples of dan's lies, communist. I would be a fool to follow dan’s example, because I would then go from well-written, thought out and researched opinions to lies and misrepresentation.

Can you look in a mirror and say all that with a straight face? You haven't written anything worth reading in many years. We let you splat on this blog so we have something to talk about. I don't know a soul who looks to you for advice on who to vote for. People ask Dan every day, I've seen them do it, heck, I've asked his opinion many times.

That says a lot about you, communist.

Ms. Brennan also has a reputation for being anti 2nd amendment.

Count Me Red said...

Thank you anonymous, I did not know that. What makes you say that?? I was wondering where to go to get some tangible proof to go along with the other stuff I've been accumulating. Appreciate the help.

What is this anti 2nd ammendment stuff? You all tell lies more than you tell the truth to smear a candidate. I have personally know Judge Brennan for years and she has never been anti 2nd ammendment, but what do you care about truth?

Republican Michigander said...

I don't know Brennan's stance on the 2nd amendment. Due to her longtime support of Stabenow and her type of democrat (worst kind), it wouldn't surprise me if she was anti but I don't know that for a fact. Stabenow voted to ban all center rifle ammunition outside of maybe a .22, so that says something right there.

I DO know that Jay Drick is pro-2nd Amendment.

Are you referring to the annunition that the police asked our lawmakers to ban because this type of ammo pierced the bullet proof vests? I am not very up on all the gun bills, I just know Democrats are not trying to take people's guns away and that's all I hear in this blog. I am looking to be enlightened.

This is going to be a technical post. There are two types of centerfire ammo. Pistol ammo and rifle ammo. What MOST people refer to as "armor piercing bullets" is a type of pistol ammo which is currently banned. It's a special type of bullet.

Background:

Police vests are usually designed to stop most pistol calibers up to .357 Magnum. It usually stops .45 caliber as well. That's usually sufficent as most criminals use cheap pea-shooters (.25 and .32 caliber), .38's, or .99mm. They are not designed to stop rifle bullets. It takes a type III and type IV vest to stop rifle rounds.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullet-proof_vests

Ted Kennedy's amendment (which Levin and Stabenow supported twice) would ban all centerfire ammo (Rifle, pistol, shotguns) that would penetrate A vest. That means a ban on all rifle ammo outside of a .22 round.

I would guess most of the problems come from people not understanding about guns and ammo.
Although, we don't always agree, I do appreciate the discussion and your ability to explain the issue as you see it.
Thanks.
